CERT Displays at Del Webb Arts & Crafts Fair
CERT attended and displayed at Del Webb Lakewood Ranch’s Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, March 9. CERT’s table showed emergency / disaster supplies every home should have, educational materials, and info on joining.
“The CERT team finds the Arts & Crafts Fair is a great way to reach the residents of Del Webb,” said Del Webb CERT Board President Howard Malis. “We can remind people that hurricane season is just around the corner and it’s always a good time to prepare.”
CERT display visitors also had a chance to enter a raffle for essential home safety equipment. “The raffle prizes are a great start to the lucky winners to get their home disaster kit started,” Malis shared. “And all the money raised is spent on educational events for the community and restocking our supplies so, in the event of an emergency, we can assist our neighbors.”
The winner for the raffle First Prize of two emergency lanterns was Laura Zimmer, a newer Del Webb resident who just moved into a home on Holbrook Cove. Tom Phillips won the 2nd Prize waterproof backpack and Judy Toom won the 3rd Prize fireproof document case.
